Mike Hasshill

Mike Hasshill was, until his retirement from the profession, a Head Teacher for many years in Cornwall. He was seconded to study under Dorothy Heathcote at Newcastle University, and acted as an adviser for educational drama whilst in-post.

With his friend Roy Crosley he founded the North Cornwall Theatre Company to present plays of Cornish content and character for residents and visitors alike during the summer seasons. Four plays from the series are now published.

Having originally studied music, Mike wrote several light operas capable of being performed by children for the amusement of adults. He now devotes himself to playing in, and composition for, the Plymouth University orchestra, along with various other musical activities. With his wife Denise, herself a ’cellist with Plymouth Symphony Orchestra, he farms Dexter cattle in East Cornwall.

The Four Cornish Plays by Mike Hasshill are:

Tamsyn Tremaine
The Improbable History of Doniert - King of Cornwall
O Happy Band
