The fee for making author’s corrections will vary with the complexity of the alteration, the relationship with the client, timescales, goodwill, and the nature of the quotation. Fees are not necessarily based on the moment or two required to make a small change: the instruction has to be logged and filed; the work has to be scheduled with other jobs; the change to be made; files re-saved and archived; printed-out; internally checked and proof-read; re-proofed for the client, despatched and logged-out.
There is no charge for rectifying mistakes of our own making: it is the originator’s responsibility to draw our attention to any of our keying-errors or misinterpretation of instructions.
