High View - Timescales

For most simple jobs we expect to work to a timescale of one week (five working days). The first of these five days is the first working day after receiving your instructions. Completion is by the end of the fifth working day. Frequently we can gain some time on this (to catch the post, for example: it leaves here at 15.45). We do not guarantee to complete work in a given time, nor do we ever promise to complete by a given date, but we have never yet let a client down over their required dates. We will inform you of the likely timescale if it is to be greater than five working days.

Typesetting, design and layout counts as “one job”, printing and routine finishing also counts as “one job”, and so two weeks should be allowed - with an addition for your own proofreading time. More complex jobs, especially those involving laminating, folding, or numbering, will take ten days. If less than this we will inform you.

If timescales are critical then please discuss with us beforehand. Depending on our workload we may have to decline the job rather than risk failing to complete on time.

Occasionally customers describe their job is only a little one that could be done quickly, or somesuch. This is usually true, but we try to follow a first-in-first out policy, and deprecate queue-jumping. To re-schedule work to accommodate rush-jobs puts the timely completion of other tasks in jeopardy. If we are able to meet rush-requirements there is an extra charge, normally an additional 20% of the cost for each day gained.

It is always difficult to rush a job and maintain standards. To us the latter is more important, so me may decline such jobs.

When jobs are finished earlier than indicated then we will notify you when they are ready: nothing is to be gained by sitting on finished work.
